Paul & Dawn's Corfe Mullen Porcelain Patio
A 55 m² Kandla Grey porcelain patio with a charcoal border, replacing a tired timber deck with a long-lasting, low-maintenance terrace laid on a concrete slab.
After
BeforeBrief
Paul and Dawn wanted to replace a weathered timber deck with a patio built to last. The old boards were mossy, damaged and past their best, and the couple wanted a clean, contemporary surface that would stay looking good for years.
Constraints
Paul and Dawn asked for an extra long-lasting patio. Instead of the usual compacted Type 1 sub-base, we laid the porcelain on a concrete slab to extend the life of the finished surface.
Our solution
We removed the old decking and laid 900 × 600 mm Kandla Grey porcelain slabs across 55 m², framed with a charcoal border for a crisp, defined edge. The slabs sit on a concrete slab sub-base rather than compacted Type 1 for exceptional long-term stability.
